Publishing A Half Done Website

Updated: Mar 6, 2019

This week I published this here my half done website. I could have kept working working working on it prior to publishing but, I know by experience that that would then have dragged things out by at least another month (or 100).

I am a perfectionist when it comes to my own creative work so I could have continued fine tuning it for forever. But I made a decision to stop stopping myself and to just hit publish and put it out there.

However I still need to:

> Link it to my personal URL

> MAYBE add a shop tab. I was setting up a Shopify shop and looking at things I could sell but now I'm unsure if that's where I want my energy to lie

> Add the rest of my older blogs from FB

> Do more SEO tagging

> Add a privacy policy

> Make subscriber opt in wording GDPR compliant (at the moment if anyone subscribes I'm going to have to send them an individual opt in email ... that'll I'll have to write up)

> Connect subscriber section to my Mail Chimp account

> T&C's

> FREEBIES page for my upcoming opt ins (planning on writing one up this morning)

> Sales Page for my first upcoming 7 day program (planning on writing this up tonight!)

Lots of work but - that's ok!

It does work in essence and it IS ok for right now.

The most important thing is that it says who I am, what I do and gives my tribe a way to connect with me or find out more about me with linking to my other platforms. The rest is a bonus.

I think it's so essential that we remember and remind ourselves that things don't have to be perfect or completely polished before we show it to the world. And you don't need to spend 12, 6 or even 1 month optimising things to the end of the earth before you put yourself out there. Just figure out the compliance, make sure it works, have the bare essentials and then? You're all set. The rest is just icing on the cake and can be done after the party starts.

What're your thoughts on this?

And, are you yet to publish your website, announce that new course/program, launch that new thing - because you are stuck in the the perfectionist's rut?
